Scholarships for Engineering Education at Mercer University

Earn up to $17,500 to study engineering at a private university in Georgia!

The Scholarship for Engineering Education, valued at up to $17,500, is for Georgia residents who pursue a degree in any one of the following University undergraduate areas accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology:

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

This program represents a commitment by the State of Georgia for private engineering education as well as the desire to retain new engineering graduates in the state. This program is funded by the state and administered by the Georgia Student Finance Commission.

The award consists of $1,750 per semester for full-time undergraduate study in one of the above areas for an educational career maximum of $17,500. This award will remain a scholarship provided the School of Engineering graduate works one year in the field of engineering within the State of Georgia for each $3,500 awarded. Otherwise, the award is converted to a student loan with a cash repayment at an interest rate 1% above the prime rate, not to exceed 10%.

Eligibility for this award for Georgia residents is contingent upon admission to the School of Engineering and its yearly renewal requires students to maintain a minimum 2.5 overall cumulative GPA. The Mercer University Office of Student Financial Planning makes the SEE awards to eligible students based on availability of funds.
