ASME kicked off E-Week on Monday, March 17th with a Guitar Hero Tournament from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 210 in the old engineering building. The main attraction was the duel between Dr. Phil McCreanor (EVE) and Dr. Loren Sumner (MAE). Both came dressed in costume; Dr. McCreanor as "the king" (Elvis cape and all), and Dr. Sumner as the rock-n-roll dude! Dr. Sumner bested Dr. McCreanor, but may have done so by sabotaging him with his own costume when he threw Dr. McCreanor's cape over his head. This distracted Dr. McCreanor enough for Dr. Sumner to beat him at the competition; however, the game was all in fun and the professors were good sports.

Some of the students even challenged the professors before taking on each other. Many students came out to see the "professorial" competition, as well as to play the game. Jerod Northcott was declared as the highest scorer, and walked away with a $30 gift certificate from Papa John's. The Tournament was a great way to get students and faculty involved as we began E-Week.
