Where students are working

Biomedical Engineering is one of the newest and smallest branches of engineering. Nonetheless, Mercer's BME graduates are employed in a variety of businesses including large companies with biomedical divisions like Baxter, Smith & Nephew and Ernst & Young. They are also employed by small start-up companies including Novoste and Biotech. Several have chosen employment in hospitals like Harber Health Systems and the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Others still have chosen governmental careers including NASA and military service. And because the BME curriculum includes a broad spectrum of engineering courses, others have chosen careers in related fields like communications, manufacturing, management and research. Recent BME graduates found immediate full-time employment as well as acceptance in graduate, medical, dental, pharmacy and law school. Mercer's Office of Career Services assists students with exploring employment and career opportunities.
