Academic requirements The electrical specialization major builds upon the base provided by the engineering core and general studies. Beyond this base, the curriculum is composed of two parts: electrical specialization required courses and technical electives. Approved technical elective courses enable students to deepen their background in the electrical and computer specialization and to expand their knowledge in related fields. Successful completion of the curriculum leaves the student prepared to embark on a career in engineering or to pursue advanced education in graduate school. The attention of the student is directed to the retention, graduation and academic requirements of the University and the School of Engineering. Electrical specialization students must complete ECE 311, ECE 323, EGR 386, and TCO 341 before enrolling in Senior Design, EGR 487. In addition, as part of the focus on quality in the program, each student must achieve grades of C or better in the electrical specialization foundation courses, EGR 244, ECE 202, and ECE 311 before taking ECE courses which require these courses as pre-requisites. Note: The above requirements reflect the requirements outlined in the current Mercer University Catalog. (Click on the Macon Campus Catalog.) |
