FIFTH YEAR master's PROGRAM As worldwide competition increases, and as the level of technology embedded into all engineering functions expands, it is far more important to complete a graduate degree as the entry level for engineering jobs at a higher level. Accordingly, Mercer University has provided a program which allows students to achieve a bachelor of engineering degree in four years and a master of engineering degree in five years. Students who complete the first three years of the bachelor’s program in the electrical specialization with grades that qualify them for graduate study may directly pursue their Master of Science in Engineering degree during their fourth and fifth year of study. Two options are available: Master of Science in Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering in Computer Engineering. Special requirements for admission into the master of engineering in computer and software engineering are stated above. Realistically, a full calendar year, including one summer term, is needed to complete the master of engineering degrees offered in the ECE Department. |
