Josh Brookshire's degree from Mercer University helped him earn a position with one of the nation's premier high-tech companies, Scientific-Atlanta, where he serves as a senior electrical engineer.
The School of Engineering's emphasis on practical teamwork, augmented by classes in technical communication, has continued to benefit Brookshire in his professional career. "The School of Engineering's core curriculum is very broad and, although you declare a specialization, you receive excellent training across engineering
disciplines, which is priceless in the workplace," Brookshire said. "You often have to understand other engineering disciplines to function as part of an engineering team."
"I can't imagine being the engineer that I am today without the personal attention
that I received from my professors. They were a great resource before graduation
and remain so as mentors today," Brookshire added. "Mercer is different. As a
graduate in the workforce, you don't fit the same mold as the other guys who
graduated with a cookie-cutter degree from a big university," Brookshire said. "And
receiving an engineering degree from a top rated school like Mercer, you can't
go wrong with that." |
