Students with a specialization in Electrical Engineering are eligible to join a variety of professional organizations focused upon supplementing students' educational experiences with extracurricular learning activities. These organizations positively influence students' years at Mercer by encouraging them to interact with other students and professionals within their chosen career path.

Electrical specialization students, in particular, are encouraged to join Mercer's chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
