Technical Communication student spotlight

The accomplishments of our students are very important to us at the School of Engineering. Please join us in recognizing our current student spotlight, Immediate Past President of Mercer's Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication, Jason Daniel.

President Jason Daniel attended the Society for Technical Communication's international conference in May where he accepted the chapter's fourth consecutive Chapter of Distinction Award.

Jason Daniel is a rising senior and double major in Technical Communication and Information Science and Technology. He recently completed his term as President of Mercer's Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC). Under Daniel's leadership, the chapter won its fourth Chapter of Distinction award at the Society's international conference, an unprecedented achievement for a student chapter.

Chapter of Distinction recognition is given to one student chapter in each of two size divisions throughout the country. Bestowment of this tremendous honor is a credit to the members, chapter, and School.

Daniel assumed the role of President during a period of time plagued by low membership; however he worked closely with the executive board, advisor Dr. Susan Codone, and past president Carla Paschke to lead the board to a very successful year.

Daniel will serve as treasuer of STC during the 2006-2007 school year. He is also actively involved in his fraternity Alpha Tau Omega.
