About the Graduate Program
Mercer’s M.S.E. in Civil Engineering program is designed to prepare students to apply an appropriate depth of knowledge that draws from 5 sub-disciplines of civil engineering.
- Environmental engineering
- Geotechnical engineering
- Structural engineering
- Transportation engineering
- Water resources engineering
In addition, the programs are focused on sustainability and green engineering as well as relevant global civil engineering topics.
The program is open to all qualified engineers, regardless of undergraduate engineering major.
Program Requirements
Our M.S.E. in Civil Engineering program requires a minimum of 30 credit hours, 18 of which must be at the 600 level. The program can be completed with either a thesis or an all-coursework option. If you select the thesis option, a maximum of 6 hours of research may be counted toward your degree.
- Civil Engineering core: 18 hours*
- Environmental Engineering or other engineering courses: 12 hours
*at least 12 must be at the 600 level
