Dr. Ha Van Vo

Eminent Scholar and Distinguished University Professor and Professor of Biomedical Engineering

Distinguished University Professor Dr. Ha Van VoDr. Ha Van Vo, a native of southern Vietnam and a survivor of the war, came to Mercer in February 2005 to pursue his dream in designing prosthetic legs and hands to help impoverish amputees in Vietnam and third world countries. That is the main reason why he moved from clinical practice to the academic and research field. He is the founder of the Mercer On Mission Orthopaedic and Prosthetic Program; the program started in 2009 and up to today, the team has fitted over 13,000 amputees and treated over 52,000 orthopaedic patients in Vietnam and Cambodia.
