Dr. Adaline BuerckDr. Adaline Buerck is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Department of Environmental and Civil Engineering and the Director of The Cecil Day Family Center for International Groundwater Innovation. Dr. Buerck joined Mercer University in Fall 2022. Before joining Mercer, Dr. Buerck was at the University of South Florida where she completed her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and a Graduate Certificate in Social Marketing and Social Change.

Professional Interests

Dr. Buerck is passionate about helping others and working to provide communities with basic human rights such as access to clean water. Her research is often interdisciplinary in nature and focuses on culturally appropriate WASH technologies. Her doctoral research examined lead (Pb) mitigation within hand pumps in Madagascar. She also holds interest in engineering education and evaluation. Dr. Buerck is an active member of AWWA, ASEE, and AEESP.
