Dr. Natalia Cardelino
Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering
Dr. Natalia Cardelino has been an Assistant Professor in the school of Environmental and Civil Engineering since 2018, when she joined shortly after receiving her Ph.D. Before obtaining her Ph.D., she worked as a structural consulting engineer for 17 years, first at Arup in their London, New York, and Boston offices, and most recently at Uzun + Case Engineers in Atlanta. She is a licensed professional engineer and is LEED accredited.

Structural analysis and design using steel, concrete, and timber
Professional Interests
Dr. Cardelino’s current research interests include producing sustainable concrete mixes by replacing a portion of energy-intensive portland cement with limestone powder and metakaolin. She is also interested in the potential of using mine tailing debris as construction material in developing countries. She has gained teaching experience through both instructional training and lecturing, and uses her past work experiences to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
