Program Requirements
About the Graduate Program
Mercer’s M.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering program emphasizes these major areas:
- Biomedical instrumentation/imaging
- Biotransport/biofluids
- Biomechanics/biomaterials
- Tissue engineering
The program is open to all qualified engineers, regardless of undergraduate engineering major. Students who do not have an adequate background in medicine or biology may be required to take additional courses.
Admission to this program may be temporarily suspended during periods of low student demand.
Program Requirements
The M.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering program requires a minimum of 30 credit hours.
- Biomedical Engineering core: 18 hours*
- Special topics and electives: 12 hours
*at least 12 must be at the 600 level
