Application Information

Mercer University’s School of Engineering requires that applicants for graduate admission meet certain basic criteria. These criteria exist to ensure that students are prepared for rigorous study and positioned for success.

Admission to the 4+1 Integrated Degree Program is only open to Mercer undergraduate students whose GPA at the end of their junior year is greater than or equal to 3.2. Students must also have the appropriate undergraduate engineering background for the graduate program they select, and must be approved by the department chair. Priority Application Deadlines

Before you begin your application, take a look at our priority application deadlines. Students who submit all of their documents for admission by these dates will receive a decision within 2 weeks.

Domestic Applicants

Applicants may still apply after the priority deadline and will be admitted on a rolling basis prior to the start of the term.

Application Checklist

To complete a graduate application for Mercer University’s School of Engineering, students must submit the following items. Admission decisions cannot be made until all application materials have been received.

  • Application for admission
  • $75 non-refundable application fee
  • Official transcripts from each college or university attended. Current and former Mercer students are not required to request a Mercer transcript. Official transcripts may be mailed directly from your current or previous institution(s) to Mercer University School of Engineering Graduate Office at the address below.

  • A minimum of 2 letters of recommendation submitted through your application or by using our recommendation form.

Applicants to the M.S. in Technical Communication Management program must also follow these guidelines:

  • One letter of recommendation must come from a former professor and one from a supervisor who is familiar with your work. The letter from a former professor may be waived for students who completed their undergraduate degree more than five years ago and replaced by a second letter of recommendation from their workplace.
  • Submit a letter of intent stating your reasons for wanting to enroll in the program, your professional experience, and your readiness to participate in an online learning experience.
  • Submit a current résumé.
