User Experience (UX) Research and Design Minor

Gathering insights about users’ behaviors and needs and creating a product or service that is usable and enjoyable is central to the work that user experience (UX) researchers and designers do. The need for UX professionals is expected to increase globally from one million professionals to 100 million by 2050. Mercer’s User Experience (UX) Research and Design minor prepares students to meet this need with the competitive skills to start a career in the UX field or focus on UX in an engineering role.

Course Requirements

Students who plan to earn a minor in User Experience (UX) Research and Design must complete at least 15 hours of coursework (five courses):

  • TCO 220 Information Design or TCO 230 Web Design
  • TCO 361 Usability
  • TCO 364 User Experience (UX) Research and Design

Choose two more courses from the following:

  • TCO 463 Prototyping and Design Thinking
  • TCO 464 Accessibility and User Experience
  • ISE 412 Human Factors Engineering
  • ISE 445 Innovation and Product Development
